About the Turkish State Mint
General Directorate of the Mint and Stamp Printing House was established to mint minor coins and commemorative coins, Republican gold coins and Republican golden jewelry, to manufacture official seals, medallion, medals and badges, to mint and distribute all kinds of visa and fee stamps and valuable papers, in accordance with the provisions of Decree Law No.234 published in the Official Gazette with the date 18.06.1984 and number 18435.
The General Directorate of Mint and Stamp Printing House affiliated to T.R. Ministry of Treasury and Finance is located in Istanbul. The General Management and Mint department of the institution serving in two separate buildings in Istanbul are located in the General Directorate building in Besiktas Balmumcu. Consisting of a closed area of approximately 7,000 square meters and an inner courtyard of 1,000 square meters on a land of 11,000 square meters, the building is being used since 1967.
Duty Stamps Printing Office of the Turkish State Mint moved from its historic site (Darphane-i Amire) within the Topkapi Palace being used since 1726 to the additional service building in Kartal Cevizli, Istanbul in March 2012. Total available area of the place in question is approximately 46,500 square meters, including 26,500 square meters of indoor and 20,000 square meters of outdoor space.
